Okay, I'm looking to buy a Thermalright HSF solution for my AMD XP 1700+. I want to know the best performace bar none, I know many will suggest water cooling but I can't afford that right now. I want to overclock this CPU as much as possible, it dying is not much of a problem considering how cheap it is to replace one.

If anyone has a thermalright hsf, could you please tell me which one and what fan you are using with it. Also if you could tell me how well its performing for you! :) thanks, :)

if you want best performance bar none then i would go with the Thermalright SP-97 coupled with a 92mm Vantec Tornado and a good pair of earplugs :D

OMFG, that is so wierd, when I priced out the stuff I want to get when I mod my LL, that was the exact combo I picked for my CPU HSF

Well unfortunately I remember hearing a Tornado and it definately bugged the heck out of me. So I dont' think I'll go down that path again, thx anyway though m8.

SP-97 with a 92mm Panaflo Medium/High/Ultra (you choose). The Tornado is just way too loud for me.
