Currently sporting a Sapphire Radeon 8500 64mb. Its fan is a little noisy at times. A kid my friend knows is selling his Celestica (brand I've never heard of) 9600XT for $100. Should I go for this or look for something else? :confused:
 
Hell, as long as it work, go for it...Celestia is a good brand (hell it's hard to go wrong with cards these days)...I would try to talk him down though....you can get a new one for about $130, offer him $75 :)

If you decide to go for something else? At $150, your best bet would be to save up another $20 and get this nvidia 5900xt http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-164-018&depa=1 at newegg for $169.

Anyway, if you don't want to go that high...the 9600xt is a very decent card.
 
Good card for that price point might be a 6600 variant, if u can wait until Nov. when they hit the retail channel. Just don't let anyone talk u into the 9800se with talk of it being softmoddable into a 9800 pro. If used cards don't scare you, then go for one of the deals in the Hot Deals section.
