best spam blocking software?

just wondering what people prefer for spam blocking. the target system is win2k and the user is using outlook express, i'd prefer an addon or proxy of some type rather than switching her over to thunderbird.

i did check the freeware database and saw some programs, most notably SAProxy (it's based on spam assassin but it's only a 15 day trial, at least for SAproxy "Pro").

ok that sounds like a good choice, free and open source is what i was looking for, anyone else have any recommendations? or good experiences with popfile?
