Which sound card has the best audio output? for headphones like HD-650s or for klipsh 5.1 setups

I dont think he was serious...The best is the Audigy 2 ZS or the M. Revolution 7.1

Who cares, I would take the headphones over a "klipsh 5.1 setup" anyways...

i was looking around for Lynx Studio LynxTWO, but no where to be found on the net... where do you buy it online? cheapest place?

which one is better comparative to budget... M. rev or 2 zs?

I'm not sure where you can find the cheapest prices for the LynxTWO, but audiomidi.com has it for the low, low price of $899. However, the people over at the RMAA forum have discovered that the E-MU 1212M, available for the more reasonable price of $199 is of comparable quality as well. Of course, with the 1212M you can't tell everyone you spent a grand on a soundcard though.

For strictly headphones I don't think you can beat the RME DIGI96/8 PAD . It has near-META42 level amplification, a great DAC, and a very low jitter digital output should you choose to get an external DAC later (the internal DAC is ver good though, so you'd have to go pretty high up in terms of cost to get an external solution that was appreciably better).

The only problem there is that generally any Professional/Audiophile sound cards have minimal/no game support. You can use a secondary sound card and passthrough it digitally in order to handle gaming use though.

arg no game support? not good... yea 1000 for a sound card thats not good either... so i guess i'll get the Audigy 2ZS or wait for audigy 3.. then maybe get an amp and hook it up to the sound card if needed

This is exactly what I do. I have the digital out from the Audigy 2 running into my DIGI96/8. I set the default card to the Audigy 2 so that games and other sounds are automatically assogned to it, and for music I manually select the DIGI96/8 for the output in foobar2000.
