Hey i am looking for the best sound card for some sennheiser HD570's and no speakers. i really dont need a fancy 7.1 sound card and my current mother board has SoundStorm on it. i am wonder what would be the best thing to get.
i dont really want to stick with the onboard even though i have heard it is good.
BTW i will be using this for games mostly but i also watch movies and listen to music alot on my computer.

If you're going to be using it mostly for games then you will want an Audigy 2 (ZS). It might be a 6.1(7.1) card but it gives the best gaming support out there.

If you are very intent on not paying for 7.1, you could add some extra cash and get an EMU 1212M, which is a professional card that supposedly is the best one out there for music at the moment. I wouldn't recommend something like that though because it has no gaming support.

There are also Envy24x based cards, which also are 5.1/7.1, which have some gaming support, but not as good as the Audigy. Some people say they are better for music however.

I'd recommend an Audigy 2 (ZS) if you are going to be using it mostly for games.
