Did you ever consider cutting your cd drive so you can see the cd spinning in there? Decause of the size of the windows you may not see it anyway, not sure. Thanks for the rivet info.

They are right on top of each other, no way to use the zalman and that nb cooler.
 
Believe it or not, that fits with some cutting.

I put one into a MicroFly just for a laugh.

True, not sure of your mobo, but on a biostar Tf 6100-939 there is just enough room for a stock amd Opty heatpipe HSF w' Tt smart fan (this is the setup on my BluHaz reDux build).

Again not sure of your mobo, but if you use the 7700 a low level passisve nb cooler might work relying on the air movement of the 7700.
 
Yeah.... My MicroFly is a lot like jedihobbits. I cut out the support on the CPU side and used one a second one of the steel support bars from the GPU side of the case.

I don't have the hard drives mounted on the "side holster" bracket on the side of the 5.25" bays, so I don't have an obstruction up there. Essentially, the cooler takes up the whole right side (as you're looking at the front of the case) from front to back. It looks absolutely stupid.

There's two support beams that are riveted into the case for support. They go from the bottom of the 5.25" bays to the back. One is just above the video card and sort of supports the PSU and the other goes just over the Northbridge. I drilled out the rivets and took the whole piece out.

Umm... No. The tray DID NOT slide out after that was installed.

One might be able if they leave the top 5.25 bay open, but you would be blowing air directly on the drive for little effect.

If you have a solid top and a not "too wide" PSU one might be able to gram in a 120mm aligned with the rear fan in the "open" are you can see in back of the optical drive next to the PSU.

I think the issue is basically this: If one does not mind removing the HSF every time the mobo tray is removed, then any cooler with a footprint the same as the CNPS 9500 will not have a height issue.

Do you have any shots from the top of the dream catcher? Stright down from the top. Maybe I can put a 80-92 mm fan with a tube stright down to the processor heatsink.

Will look if not will take a shot when i get home (at work). The issue though is if you have a window..... if not it should work. To go straight down (again DC is an amd rig) in DC would go through the edge of the window (I think).
 
Honestly I wouldn't care if it looked a bit weird. I Would rather have a cooler cpu than a perfect looking case. Can you buy this case without windows?
