best RAM timings?

i know next to nothing about RAM, so forgive me for asking stupid ?'s. I just built my new computer, and for now, i only have 256mb of crucial PC-2700. At first I wasn't planning on OC'ing this new system, but i decided to anyways, so i'm running my 2500+ at 10.5X200 (waiting to see how stable it is, then step it up a notch or two). And from what i've read (and is obvious) its best to run the fsb and ram at a 1:1 ratio. so with an effective fsb of 400mhz, what are some good timings to run the ram at w/o frying it? All comments appreciated.

wow, thats a TON faster than the bios wants to run it...i think its like 8-4-4-3T (what does 3T mean btw? i've never seen a CAS lat. time with a letter after it)

I'll have to try it when i get home and see what happens. Thanks
 
Your not going to be able to run Crucial RAM with aggressive timings like that. You have to get BH-5 or BH-6 chips just to run 2-2-2-5 and not many people offer those except Mushkin on their PC3200 2-2-2 special.

CH-5 is the normal chips used on alot of RAM from Mushkin, Kingston, and Corsair. You can get 2-3-2-5 with it.

I wouldn't try to tighten your timings alot more then they are because Crucial is great for stability but not too hot for overclocking or top performance.
