Hi long time lurker first time poster!

I am also new to the overclocking scene and have bin doing alot of reading on going about it.
I recently built my first system as well amd it turned out pretty well! Today I finally got a new case with 5 fans and better vents and a badass heatsink with a vantec tornado to put on it. I now have a wind tunnel of a computer but the temps are great for overlocking.

Problem is im stuck at 2528mhz on a athlon 3400+. From what i've read they can go much higher then that with proper cooling (which I have). From what i've read and seen from my own personal testing it's my ram that is holding me back. It doesn't stay stable after 230 FSB.
Its this ram : Crucial 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 8T x 2

Right now I got it at 3-3-3-8 and 2.65 vdimm with the cpu at 230x11 and 1.70 vcore.
If I increase the FSB anymore I get blue screen or lockups. I tried upping the power on the ram and cpu which helped a little (pretty stable at 230 now).

Anyway what im getting at is,is my ram holding me back? If so can you reccomend me a better pair of sticks? Max i'm willing to spend is 125 per stick, and if you could link it from newegg :)

Also if its not the ram holding me back and something stupid i'm doing feel free to tell me as well! Thanks in advance

You may try 2.5, 3, 3, 11 timings.

Cut back memory to 166Mhz. Or buy 500Mhz memory. Either way will insure that memory is not your raod block
