Best Program To Convert Vids? (Work Related, Need Advice)

I have a handful of .mov vids (Quicktime) that I need to convert into high-quality mpegs (or WMV), but currently don't have any conversion software.

Can someone recommend a decent program that can convert them without losing any quality? Something that's not bloatware, spyware-free (obviously) etc.

I have Nero, but it apparently will not (does not recognize) convert Quicktime files.

I'd like to get something that I might actually use again if I have to pay for something (I never use Quicktime, so Quicktime Pro for like $30 would be pointless, though it supposedly allows for conversion), or something free that works well, though I've found nothing as of yet.

This is work-related and probably a one-time deal in dealing with Quicktime vids, though it might be good to have a decent program in general for converting other files.

Suggestions appreciated.

give total video converter a shot. Not sure about it being lossless but, seems to work fairly well. or Winavi will also recognize .mov files

quicktime pro will also allow you to export into different formats if you have that, oops sorry missed that you didn't want to use quicktime pro
