Well i posted a thread a couple of months ago similar to this. But i wanted to know whats the best pre-made coolant to buy?

If you are talking about colored coolant, Feser One makes the best premixed.

so far i have feaser one (seems cool) and the swiiftech hydrax. well does the feaser one leave any gunk in the pipes like fluidXP does?

I've taken my blocks apart a few times after running Feser One with no issue. I did stain my Swiftech Reservoir though, but I'm fine with that as long as it doesn't gunk up my blocks like both Fluid XP and D-Tek's dyes did. Bleh, never touch the stuff again.

ok thanks sooo much guys. who cares about the stains xD as long as it doesnt have that gunk in tubes and blocks

Honestly,. if you want color get colored tubing and use distilled water. It performs better and is just as non-conductive. Just add a little biocide and your golden.

I use 50/50 anti-freeze from the auto store. It totally kicks ass.

i use primochill pc ice clear.

been using it with the rig in my sig for the past 3 years and havent had any issues.

+1 for PC Ice! It's non-conductive and it has lubricants in it to help protect your pump. I've had leaks (one even puddled on a video card) and the system kept cracking away with no damage. I tried Fluid XP twice but I kept getting dye build-up in my reservoir.

10 parts distilled water + 1 part anti-freeze + .5 part of water wetter (redline). I also use Tygon Silver lined tubing and I don't need a biocide. Nothing can live in anti-freeze.

First off, no matter what it says on the bottle, no pre-mix stays non conductive. Just like water, they build up ions in the water along with other "debris" (dust, plastecizer from tubing) during the life of the loop. A small leak is fine if found quickly, but no fluid is 100% non conductive.

With that said, my vote still goes towards Feser One.

+100000! Also its not $30-40 per gallon, mix yer own its not rocket science. Been using distilled water, touch of isopropyl alcohol as well as the formula quoted above for many a years in many systems. Im thinking I might go into the pooter coolant business;)

For Red Coolant:

Go to local VW dealer...buy a gallon of of their red coolant. You can use a 9:1 ratio mix this distilled water to coolant. Just add a little more if you want a darker tint.

For Blue Coolant:

VW dealership again, 1 gallon of their blue coolant for $20-$25 or so. Use a 9:1 ratio mix again, and adda little more for desired color. Depending on how often you change coolant...let's say every three
months if that...should last you well over a year. Heck, more like 2 years using a 9 / 1 ratio.

Feser One and Feser UV tubing FTW :D

I won't ever use regular clear tubing again, it just goes cloudy after a couple weeks. the UV tubing does cloud too but because it's UV it doesn't look like crap lol.

Word of warning:

Never, and I mean EVER mix VW antifreeze with the regular old-school stuff. It gels into little globules and will clog your shit. Imagine what it costs to have the system cleaned and redone in a Jetta  :( That mistake was only made once- luckily, my buddy knew the score and warned me before any damage was done.

By "old school stuff" do you mean other antifreeze? I don't see why you would want to mix
different antifreeze together, and it's always a good idea, that if you do create a mix, let it
sit in a container for a day or so and make sure it doesn't clump up.

Yeah. But when you don't know there's such a thing as "different" antifreeze, it can bit you on the ass. :p

does the primochill ice have all the addatives in it that you need? i see where it says anti-corrosion but what about algae or whatever stuff like that?

anyone use primochill liquid utopia? wondering how good it is cuz i think i'm gonna use it. with distilled water of course.

The Feaser 1 is pretty good stuff. Most folks find that it runs temps that are really close to what distiled water will get you with the added bonus of corosion protection. The other bonus I found over distilled water is that at least with my loop it clears any air bubbles MUCH faster. On my new loop it took me about an hour to get all of the bubbles out with Distiled water wheras I was able to fill and clear the loop in about 5 mins with the feaser.

This review is what got me thinking about making the jump to a premix,

Distilled water and few drops of PT nuke or a silver coil is the cheapest and most effective way imho. All those pre-made coolants cost an arm and a leg compared to water and 90% of them preform much worse, without any added effects.

Premixed coolant is basically for people who either don't want to mix or don't know how and are afraid to fuck something up. Otherwise the recipe I gave above is the good for getting excellent cooling.
