Best Performance per $ PCI-E Video Card

What should I be looking for to get good performance per dollar on a new PCI-E video card. Upgrading my entire system. I'm not scared of a little overclocking, but I won't be swapping out stock HS to add in custom crap.

I'd prefer NVIDIA. I bought ATI last year, and I'd like to go back to the more stable NVIDIA drivers. So unless there's an ATI card out there that is a lot better value than the equivalent NVIDIA board, I'd rather stay with NVIDIA this time around.

My budge for the card alone is between $150 and $300. I did some searching in the articles on HardOCP and ArsTechnica and the like, but I'm more interested in what the buyers have found in terms of good boards for overclocking, or ones that are only a little slower, but a lot cheaper, etc.

SLI is a consideration, but a very minor one. If I recall, I'd have to spend more than $300 to get an SLI capable board.
 
the card myrddine linked you too is the exact card i have. bought this card when i upraged to a pce-x sff. i upgraded from a 5950u and this card blows it out of the water, i love it.

Hopefully a few of the mobo makers will skimp on a feature or two and make SLI boards in the $150 range.
