Agreed the old Cellies were amazing, anything you can pull a double out of is top notch.

333MHz --> 666MHz
Now:
2GHz --> 4GHz Dont think so, not without some major liquid chill.

heh, do you have personal experience here? didn't think so
perhaps i should whip out the picture of my clawhammer that has been abused to hell and back.. and surprisingly still works just as well as when i got it

but i digress. when i meant durable, i meant it could take voltage and loved cold. most of them are protected by a heatspreader anyway, so physical strength is a moot point
 
Had a pair of Xeon 1.6GHz LV's at 3.2GHz!!! That is sick. 100% overclock.

I can't vote because I've got 50% or better OC's out of TBred B's, Tualatin Celerons, Winchesters, Celeron D's, and Northwoods. Most CPU's are great OC'ers if you know what you're doing and don't buy the high end to start out with.

I call your noob name-calling. Try the PRESTONIA.....lol. The 1.6 LV Xeon built on the Prestonia core (SL6XK s-spec, D1 stepping) was a favorite for 100%+ OC to 3.2Ghz+. I had a pair that would do 3.3Ghz. How about them apples?
 
I would have to either vote for my softmodded AthlonXP 1800's (T-bred) in a dual setup, that ran stable on air cooling up to 2.2Ghz for a long time.

Otherwise, my venice 3500 rocked all the way up from 2.0Ghz stock to 2.7Ghz with a Volcano 12 HSF and 5 fans in the case.

you're really tempting me to re-think venice for my next proc.

i was thinking venice, with the heat spreader left on to protect it from the weight of my block and cold plate.

now......i'll still probably go venice because of pricing, but i'll always wonder if a claw could have taken it with a bare core.

the venice will most likely overclock better unless you get an FX ;)
