Hey all, I'm going to be buying a new set of headphones for around and less than $50. I have a few headphones in mind. I'll be using them for gaming, as well as listening to many different types of music (from rap/hip hop, raggae, to techno/trance, to rock/alternative, and many others, heck even classical). Which of the following cans would suit me best?

Sennheiser HD415
Sennheiser PX100
SENNHEISER DJs HD212
Sennheiser HD465 Sennheiser PC 150 Sennheiser EH 250

I know, they are all sennheisers, but I have heard good things about them, and for the price I don't know which brands would be better for me. Which of the several :p headphones here would you recommend?

Sorry for the hijack, but also consider the Koss KSC75. They are superb and can be found for under $15, make sure to get the non-volume control ones that are sold at radio shack. They are really fun and engaging pair of headphones, right now listening to them out of X-fi-->PA2v2 and it is beating my Grado 325i's straight from the X-fi (can't say it will be the same when i get a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter). They are brilliant at unamped as well, a bit harsher but still very good quality, at the office i listen to them out of my iRiver H10 instead of my Shure E4, because the minute quality I lose, is way worth it in terms of comfort over the shure's

The KSC75 are clip-ons and great around the office or working out, none noisy environments as they are definetly open. They have way more bass than you'd think coming from cheap clip-ons, but it is very clean and controlled. Detail is there but like I said the highs are a little harsh for say, critical listening. Previously I had been using Sony MDR-380's (80-90 CAD MSRP sony cans) and these little things put those to shame.

The cons to watch for: cord is thin, especially after it separates. Also since they are clip-ons they tangle unlike full-sized cans. The cord is pretty short, 4-5 feet don't know exact measurements, def not the 9" usual cords of big cans.

Even if you get whichever you listed headphones take a look at these you WILL not be disappointed with them, a great 2nd pair to keep around that you don't have to baby or an emergency gift to someone else.

The koss ksc75 use the same driver as my old portapros. They sound good and have very boomig bass. The px100 sound more neutral and have a very strong cord.

Can those who voted for the PX100 give me their opinion on it? I'd like to know what sets this apart from all the others.

A couple more votes for the PX 100s. mota got me into them. He found them after his 25-year-old Sonys died that he swore were irreplaceable. He games a lot with them. I just listen to music now and then.

I'd bought some Sony MDR-V150s st Target for like $20. The sound on them was pretty good, but I couldn't stand them on my head. The PX 100s are very lightweight and comfortable. If anything, they're a bit "delicate" (don't toss them around) and you might want to get an extension cord, as they are a bit short in that department.

I don't like the PX100 as much as I like the PortaPro / KSC75. I find the px100 is more muffled, less bright. Boring sounding.
