I've used both, and preferred the DJ. I also happen to have one for sale ATM :)

iirc, my friend has a DJ that's 20GB and cheaper than the comparable iPod model...

..but seeing as how i have neither, i can't really compare and so i haven't voted.

I have a Creative MuVo. It kicks both those player's asses. 256MB storage, and it only cost me $70. :D

However, I only use it at the gym, so I wanted a cheap mp3 player, and that was my main consideration.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. It's all relative. ;)

I have a Dell DJ, it is better for the money, but the iPod is probably better if you want to spend the extra cash. They seem to sound the same and perform the same, but the iPod looks cooler. I also really hate iTunes.

IPod is overall the most well designed mp3 player there is, period. If you've used one, the attention to detail and how everything is setup is near perfection. And as far as itunes, just use something else. I prefer the WinAmp plugin
