im looking for an mp3 player that works well with running.
what i mean by that is i want it to be unintrusive and light possibly with bluetooth headphones/buds if they exist.
any recommendations?

i run with the 800 series all the time. it comes with an arm band you attach the player to. highly recommended... i have 3 actually...
 
whats the difference between the 700 and 800 series
the 700 series seems lighter and smaller per description
otherwise i cant tell a difference and the 800s are more?

I actually called up Iriver asking about the differences and they said it was cosmetic. Also, some stores seem to carry 700 or 800 but not both.

Amazon.com and Newegg.com have the best prices on them. Newegg is sometimes $5-10 dollars more, but their shipping is fast fedex.

I purchased my IFP-790 for $165 a few months after it came out - I think it's about $120 on the above mentioned sites now. Extremely good value.
 
Costco sells the IFP-796 (512 MB) for $139.99. Great deal if you ask me since it comes with Costco's fabulous 10 year warranty...

i spend way to much money at costco
 
The music playback is better than my pgo player.

It takes a single aa battery and really lasts awhile
with this, even when recording. Its got pass through,
you can connect another output dvd, radio, and listen
through the i river headphone jack. Just press the record
when you hear something good.

I can't recommend it for a beginner as it is complicated
to use and setup.
