I just bought the logitech mx 1000 and I am considering a new mousing surface. I've been using an original Rat Pad for about 4 years now, pledging it occasionally. What is new and groovey and reccomended for the mx1000?

...

Where'd you get $50?

Only the top ones like Steelpad would be nearly $50.

Func's coming out with a newer one however that would retail close to that price.

Do you have any information on the new one coming out? I've used my Func/MX510 forever now and was looking for a bit of a change. A newer Func would be nice =]

I have a Func pad but I'm actually not using it in favor of my old rubber matted Allsoft. The reason being the base of my hand gets red and irritated after about 5 hours use of the func. I don't usually put in 5 hours straight but when I do I need the padding of the allsoft.

Sell me your Func (how long has it been used?). I've been trying to get a cheap one. :)

As for the new Func-- http://www.func.net/mba.html

I would really want that mousepad. I *know* it would be a great mousepad.

Edit: Hrm, it seems like it's going to be at the same size. But the surface should be better.

I've been way happy with my Func/mx510 setup. I don't know if others have tried it, but the liquid teflon drops are pretty good too. Turns it into a well-oiled headshot-getting machine. I'm sure the new Func pad will be even better.

I have an mx1000, and using it on my old regular cloth mousepad gave me accuracy problems. I purchased a fUnc1030 from newegg a few months ago for like 30$ including shipping, all I can say is you will have to pry this thing out of my cold dead fingers....it works flawlessly with the MX1000, best peripheral purchase I have made in a looong time (probably since I bought the first logitech optical mouse).

Do you guys think mousepads are necessary for the MX1000? I just started using my MX1000 a few days ago and haven't felt like i needed a mousepad. The only thing is that the rubber grips on the bottom of the mouse grabbed a little too well on my desk surface, but now that i've been using it more, they've worn down some.
