I have been an avid Microsoft Keyboard/Mouse user, however all my Microsoft Mice die like 6 months after I get them....

So what is the best Mouse out there? Logitech Anygood? Corded or Cordless?

Thanks

there was a big thread about this a fee weeks back, try to find it, anyways from what I remember the logitech mx770? series mouse took the victor, that was based on people's posts, that and runner up was microsoft intellimouse v2

Corded - MX500
Not Corded - MX700

Both of these mices are awesome. Only difference is that the MX700 is wireless. But performs flawlessly.

I know the MS Explorer 3.0 is suppose to be the best at like DPI and responsivness.... is the Logitech MX better as well

I have yet to try an MX700 (I probably will end up getting it soon. I just need the cash so I can buy the duo instead).

However, I am currently using a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and it has sufficed for gaming. (I play CS and WC3. It's good for both from my experience).

pfft

I cant believe all you people are using the old mx700 still

get with the times

MX900

I upgraded from the MS Intellimouse 3.0 to the MX700 about 15 months ago. (Oct 02)

I'll put in another vote for the MX700 (I prefer it to my MX500; definitely grab an MX Duo while you're at it)

as far as the MX900 goes...I don't know how much it costs, but unless you need the bluetooth, I'm not sure it's worth the extra $$.

The Logitech MX500 is the best gaming mouse. If you want the best wireless gaming mouse its the MX700.

The MX900 is a waste of money if you dont have bluetooth devices or dont plan to game from the other room lol.

The MX700 has a 6ft radius i think while the MX900 has a 30ft radius.

But seriously who would be 30ft away from their monitor gaming?

i agree with burningrave, MX500 will always be a better (gaming) mouse than the MX700, why? Because, wired = faster response time (of course, it's really nit-pickey, but you asked for the best ^_^) anyways, that's what i've ordered for my new system so it sure as hell had better kick ass. =)

Yes, I'm aware of the date.

Got the MX700 for xmas. I've only had MS mouses until now for 15 years...get the Logitech it's way better.

Make sure your get the latest mouseware drivers as they support "keystroke" mapping for your games.

Please don't flame me for this. But I tried the MX700 at my local staples store, and since I have really long lanky fingers it felt like crap. The most comfortable mouse I have ever used was the microsoft one. I think it was called the explorer. I was a big cumbersome wireless mouse that had a bad response time. But it felt comfy as hell. I don't recommend the MX700 if you have long fingers.

what's Keystroke mapping?

Pick a button in mousware to change/modify. There is a space on that screen where you put your cursor. Press the key you want to map to that button...and it puts it in there like CTRL+ or ALT+ ect. I'm not at my home computer right now so I'm sorry if this is a little vague. Save it in mouseware.

Start up a game and map that mouse button by selecting it. With the MX700 you could attach all 7 buttons if you want.

I love it !

I have fairly long fingers and I though this mouse felt excellent, since its a rather large mouse, it seems like my palm doesn't drag on the mouse pad anymore.

Edit: talking about my mx500:D

i changed from a ms explorer 3.0 to a logitech mx500 about 12 months ago. after all this time, i can conclude that i liked the explorer better. just a personal preferance, i think.

I hear the mx500 is a big mouse though. I don't know if I want to buy a 'bigger' mouse without trying it first... and that's kind of hard to do over the internet. :\

How's the mx300? Is it like the mx500 only smaller or what? I thought I read that the mx300 has 800dpi and 5-6 buttons right? I do know that it's smaller than the mx500... I just don't know if it is of the same quality.

i rather like the mx700 for one reason really
the batteries add weight, and i like to feel my mouse, the opticals are so light, it's just never felt like a mouse

that and it rocks

my rechargables died, but i just went out and picked up rayovac rechargables (the only brand i could find that fit the spec range on the charge)

i'm suprized non of you notice the lag that the mx700 definatlly has, not when u initially move it but if u do a big sweep it cant keep up.

i too wished they released a corded version of the wireless explorer v1 it's shape was quite similar to the mx500 / 700 / 900 but more comfy imho

my mx700 has no lag whatsoever, i sat there trying to make it lag for the first 10min i got it cause i couldn't possibly believe that it was practically as good as a wired....changed my belief. What kind of mousepad do you have, people often forget (As I did until two weeks ago when i got my ratpadz) that the mousepad plays a HUGE role in the mouse's response time.

I guess I get to be the strange one and suggest the Razer Boomslang 2100. Awesome mouse once you get used to it.

I agree, its a great mouse for gaming. I'd rather have an MX500 for everything else though.

lag is present if you have too much interference, or low batteries.

just move the receiver.

and yes, Boomslangs are great mice...I would reccomend them, but with quality asterisked.

I've seen way too many of those break. including mine.

the MXs have been good mice

I love my MX700 (even though it's defective and to be RMAed soon :D), but I have had my eye on teh Mamba for a long time.

The mamba... lol

Interesting design though, I dont know if I would buy a mouse from a company that doesnt even have money to start producing them at all.

Another vote for the mx700. I love mine. To the guy who said it was uncomfortable, did you put three fingers on top instead of two? I have my pinky and thumb in the side grooves on each side and my ring finger rests on the black part of the top on the right side. After I started placing my hand like that this thing has felt like a dream come true. Is that how you guys do it?

Not another one of these threads. Anyway, Razer Boomslang is my fav. gaming mouse. I plan to have a Razer and MX500 hooked up to my new system!

If you see lag on your MX700 then ethier its experiencing interference, your using a reflective mousing surface (no optical mouse likes this!), or something is wrong with it. Try changing the channel the mouse uses. You can do that by pressing the Connect button on the receiver and then immediately pressing the connect button on the mouse.
