Best monitors with dim brightness?

I am looking for something that retains its colour even in dim brightness. I have sensitive eyes and turn down the brightness to the lowest.

Are there any monitors with adjustable back lighting?

If not, what type of panel retains the colours best in dim brightness?

In terms of retaining color, I`d absolutely recommend NEC monitors but I will warn that they`re pricey (and that while I`m perfectly happy to use them for gaming, they *are* 60Hz IPS panels with less-than-perfect response time).

General type: IPS, 8-bit-input/hardware-calibrated via 10-bit LUT (or 10-bit input), wide gamut color. Color accuracy and quality falls apart on many monitors as luminance decreases, so you have to check on performance via reviews. The main people who are lowering brightness while requiring accurate color are photographers and printers, so that's where you'll find the most monitors with this kind of performance.

I`m currently using a 2690 and a 3090, both at 120cd/m^2. If you care, they have backlight evenness factory calibration, and quite broad coverage of AdobeRGB. Compared to current-generation, mine use significantly more power as they`ve switched to LED backlighting.

Current generation listing:
NEC PA302W-BK-SV 30" 16:10 IPS Monitor PA302W-BK-SV B&H

Basically, what you need is something that can turn down to very low brightness and then can be calibrated/profiled to produce accurate color. The NECs with Spectraview include the software and hardware puck needed.

If you`re looking for reviews of various monitors, look for low-lumance (120cd/m^2 max) color accuracy testing.

Get a ASUS
have problem with BENQ SAMSUNG
ASUS know what they are doing don't get a IPS I think the increased viewing angles of IPS monitors adds extra light into the eye. 250 cdm2 Brightness if about as far as you want to go and turn down the settings with your graphics card which can also make a difference. Get a Antec or similar bias led light kit for the back of the monitor to make it easier on the eyes. Increase the display to 125% in windows to prevent excess squinting.
