they are great looking supplies, but have jack as far as published specs

Ultra X-Connect

1. VOLTAGE REGULATION was fairly good, with the exception of the 12V line being consistently high. The 12V rail typically provides power to the motherboard (for the CPU), disk drives, fans, and cooling devices, so proper operation is very important. Although it may just be this particular sample and not a common trend of the X-Connect, it is a bit troubling. Throughout the range of test power output levels, the range was as follows:

+12V: 12.25 ~ 12.49V
+5V: 4.86~ 5.13V
+3.3V: 3.1 ~ 3.38V

basic DM PARD and regulation compliance, not a "superior" PSU IMO
but lots of eye appeal

1. VOLTAGE REGULATION was very good, within the tight ±3% claimed. Throughout the range of test power output levels, the range was as follows:

+12V: 11.88 ~ 12.28V
+5V: 4.86~ 5.11V
+3.3V: 3.21 ~ 3.38V

for the best, call up pcp&c and order a 510 deluxe with all the custom options you want. Be prepared to remortage your home though.....

Silent Pc reviewd the item and said that it is not the most efficient PSU on the higher stress testing it dipped as low as 50% and they said the cooling designe of the unit is not the best either. Also in the testing it comes across as fairly loud unit as well. *shrug* 3 points that dont seem very good, but other than that a very nice looking unit!
 
important criteria for many, especially in the silent crowd
however it had excellent voltage regulation
an important consideration with the performance crowd (considerably better then the Ultra X)

What power supply are you referring to? Tried to look for a review of the PCP&C at Silent PC, no luck (I am assuming you were referring to this unit, if so, link?).

EDIT: never mind, I finally figured out you were talking about the Antec. I got myself in a huff thinking those comments were about the PCP&C 510. :p :D

I believe he was talking about the Ultra-X Connect.
