Hi Everyone,

Longtime lurker, 1st time poster.

I am building a custom SFF and need a low profile C2D CPU cooler that can also handle teh overclocking.

Anyone recommend a good cooler?

The new Thermaltake Maxorb is only 94mm high. So it would fit in some SFF cases.
The old Thermalright XP120 with a slim fan on it would sit pretty low.

94mm is pretty damn high for most SFF cases. In the MicroFly and X-QPACK, the maximum height before modifications is only 76mm.

Thanks JT
Does anyone know how this compares with the S8000 and the S7700?

It has been my experience (as little as it is) that the all copper cooler is more efficient than the CU/AL styles. As far as the S8000, while I've read it is good, it was developed for rack systems which tend to have a lot less height than your "usual" SFF case.

I go along with JT as that is what is used in my Micro Fly, there is plenty of room, and it does a good job, my Opty 165 is currently running at 2.64.
