hey guys im a noob so if u can plz just help me out thx.
i have a question about the watercooling liquid stuff. u put water? or some other liquid stuff in the watercooling thing right? and is artic silver 5 the best for the cpu glue thing? thx guys for ur help
 
It's called watercooling cuz you use water to cool. AS5 isn't glue but it works well too. Wrong section too.
 
YEAAA nonconductive liquid. for this, do u have to keep on putting it in? or something like replacing it? and which one is really good?
 
No, the liquid (any kind) in yours sytem will not go down apreciably unless you have a leak. Once you fill it you should be fine.

But then again, if you can put a hose on a hose barb you should be fine without getting the more expensive non-conductive stuff.
 
If I remember correctly one of our AC users had some and it left a nasty residue in his blocks. So I'd say a negative on it.
 
wasn't there some guy, in Germany I think? that used milk in his watercooling setup instead of water? And his temps were lower, but milk goes bad so it wouldn't work too well anyway :)

kind of like the guy who found out toothpaste works better than Arctic Silver, before it hardens :p and then later found out it could be mixed with vaseline so it doesn't harden :)
 
I'm a big fan of distilled water + some kind of additive (Fluid XP, Proprotect, Water Wetter, etc) + a teaspoon on Listerine... yes... Listerine.

It kills 99.9% of the little biological nasties that tend to grow in loops and it leaves your case minty fresh.

FluidXP is not an additive...just before someone tries to mix that with water. I hadn't thought about listerine before, there are a couple of clear anti-corrosion additives right? Add some blue listerine to the mix and you have a great color....or just get some pentosin.

#1: Sorry about the Fluid XP... never personally used it myself. So far I've stuck with Water Wetter (don't like the color), Zerex (dont like the color) and Innovatek ProProtect.

#2: I've been using Listerine in the current build for about a year and haven't noticed any problems w/ corrosion. Like I said, I only use a teaspoon at a time though. I don't know if I'd try to use it as a dye.

The current build's mix (in order of ratio): Distilled water, Zerex, blue dye, Listerine
 
The alcohol might have adverse effects on the acrylic portions of a loop, but other than that I dont see a problem. There are people who run alcohol for their chilled loops and do a good job with it if I remember correclty.
 
I use Cool-Cases-USA stuff HERE been in two loops over a year no problems Low cost easy to mix is also UV colors.
