Best Lian-Li Case?

yes it will fit and everything in the case is removable .. i have that case in black with a scythe ninja which is way bigger than the zalman and i have no problems .. i dont use the fan duct though .. but i do use the 120mm fan blowing over the video cards

does anyone have any pics of a pc power and cooling 1k psu in a v1000 .. i know u have to take out the divider wall and the 2nd hd cage .. which is fine .. cuz mine are out already .. i think it will fit .. i just wanna see some pics .. i know there has to be people out there with them ..

just wanna make sure .. since ill be going quad sli when dx10 hits ..and i wanna make sure everything is set to run in this case

also regarding cutting the dual brick ac ryan fan grill .. on the top of the v1000 . how hard is it to do .. does the grill come with a template to cut .. or should i just send my caser to ppc's .. only thing is i dont wanna be out of a case for so long .. i would just cut it with a jigsaw

whats a better HSF to use in the plusII cases......a Zalman CNPS9500 or a Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro? which one would fit better, cool better and be quieter?

dunno .. never used either .. but i would go scythe ninja .. one of the best coolers out there plus it uses quiet fans ..

i looked at the ninja but it looked kinda big....read some reviews that said users had to be careful when moving their PCs around to LANs and whatnot because of it.

personally I think the Voodoo Rage B.A.M. is the best Lian Li case :D

Ither one will fit no problem in the case. They both cool relatively the same. The AC Freezer 64 Pro may be a little quieter at full speed, i'm not sure because i havn't tested one yet but may if i grab an AM2 setup soon.

Its also very large and doesn't look that great IMO if you're a case modder and look at the inside of your case much.

It looks to me like there is an 80mm fan stuck in the back of that thing so i doubt its very good in the way of cooling.

hmm i guess to each their own .. i think the ninja and tuniq tower look waay better than the others

I got a Ninja in my PC-V1100B Plus II. The only issue I encountered was that the fan is designed to be positioned in a way that it exhausts hot air out the back of a standard ATX case. However, the rear fan on the Plus II acts as an intake, and the side video card fan is an exhaust. I had to place a metal fan grill on the Ninja fan so that I could mount it upside down so that it moves air in way that th case is designed for. If I had not placed a fan grill on, the blades of the fan would collide with the heatsink in this configuration. Also, the metal air deflector does not fit with the ninja in place, which is fine. Basically, in the below picture, fresh air comes in from the rear fan, through the ninja, and then makes a 180 degree turn to be exhausted by the side video card fan. Overall, I really like that heatsink as silence is a top priority for me, and I still have plenty of cooling left over to do some o/cing.

why do u have the fan over the video cards as an exhaust ?

the way my v1000b plus II is ..

front is an intake .. rear back is an exhaust .. my ninja blows air right into the rear exhaust fan .. my 120mm over the video cards is blowing down on them .. and im gonna cut 2x120mm exhausts up top to help clear all the dead hot air out

i dont know how u guys do it on the bottom .. i see like no psu cables .. the bottom of my case is covered with psu cables

Newegg has a lower cost $125 Lian Li PC-65 case. It has a clear window, all thumb screws, 4 fans, slide out MB tray. It's fairly compact but has enough room for most systems. It comes in black and silver and is extremely well made. I have 2 and am pleased.
The only thing that I don't like is the lack of good airflow near the chipset fan but this can be changed by a good careful installation.
$150 is about my limit to pay for a case. I would rather use the $$$ to upgrade my processor, or other components. Look at the Lian Li PC-65 on newegg before deciding.
Good luck
:)

I'm going to have to chime in here. I love Lian Li cases, but the PC-Vxxxx series are, a let-down from what I was expecting. I had 2 earlier models, a PC-65 and a PC-82 (it was a CompUSA special, just has a different front panel) which I absolutely fell in love with. The hard drive cages, removable front panel, removable motherboard tray, the power supply faceplate, all genius design, in my opinion.

I also own a PC-V1200, which I bought specifically for water cooling. It does that just fine, but it was just a let-down in workmanship and quality, compared to the other two cases I had worked with. The side panels felt flimsy, the side panel locking mechanism was a great idea in theory, but the execution was not as effective, it left something to be desired. That and the removable front panel was nowhere to be found. All in all, it was a bit noisy, and a bit more difficult to work with than I had hoped.

Just ordered a PC-60B Plus 2.

Case in sig best ive had, plenty of room and very good air flow. Dig the color too. ;)

My Voodoo Rage Case has dual 80mm in the back and dual 92mm in the front, don't know why that pics diffrent....

ok, im pretty sure I am going to go with the v1000b PlusII. I am going to get it custom ordered thru performance-pcs and they are going to drill the holes for me to look like what this guy did to his

mind you that is a v1000 case and mine will be a v1000b plusII so it will have the side 120mm fan and some other subtle differences.

any other recommendations?

ok everyone....ive decided to go with the v1000b PlusII case and wanted to drill holes in the case like the one pictured above. i was wondering what size holes (diameter) each should be? I'm going to contact the person who drilled the holes and ask him as well but wanted other people's opinions as well. thanks!

Make them whatever size fits :D

His case is in his hands now. Check out the Performance-PCs gallery to find out how it turned out.
