That's my budget.

I'm stuck between the 2001fp and the 2005wfp from dell.

however, perhaps there is an avenue that I haven't yet considered.

Either Dell is what I'd go with.

2001fp for bigger screen size and more resolution

2005fpw for lower response time, better contrast ratio, less power consumption, and from early reports a reduced screen door effect.

The 2001FP can be had for less than $600 shipped, for a thrifty shopper.

well, I ended up purchasing the 2005fpw for $552.

:) can't wait to see my new baby!

Can't beat that price IMO. I just got a 2001FP, it arrived on Friday! So far I can not find one dead pixel or sub pixel. I am very pleased with my screen, it runs non native resolutions great with no ghosting. GL with the 2005. :)

How did you get the 2005 for $550? Actually I'm hoping to get the 2001 but the cheapest i've seen it is around 610 shipped. How do i get it for under $600 ?

er how did you get it for 552 and how can i do the same? thanks ^_^

The original price was $799

-25% off with a dellf coupon

$600

-$35 off coupon (I think I got it from bensbargains)

565

-2% (I have dell credit. If you select a normal credit card, it'll give you an option to go back and pay with dell credit with a 2% discount)

$552

I also had a coupon for $75 of purchase of 75.01 or more, but I'd already used it on a dimension 3000 purchase. That included a 17" lcdtv for a buck (which I've already sold for $400) and I used a 20% off coupon. I've sold the dimension 3k for $950 with a used 19" monitor. So, i've made a total of $650 dollars of that deal. The lcd was free!

yummy!!

I emailed dell and they are giving me a $50 off concession coupon for this monitor. Even though I purchased it through dell home, I'm getting a discount for it because I'm in college.

That's a coupon for $50 off a $50.01 purchase.
