Ok I'm thinking again of getting a LCD for my setup. I already know that an LCD looks better than my CRT on the desktop. But I want an LCD that is going to be almost as good as my CRT for BF2, any LCD's come to mind?

BF isn't that fast of a game, even in the vehicles.

Responce time wise, 12ms (grey-to-grey) will be good.
If you got a 7800 series gpu you probabbly should go for a pannel with a native res of 1600x1200. I think the game looks fine on 1280x1024 but i havent seen it on a higher res.
I've played bf2 on a SyncMaster 710T and it was nice. A 19'inch monitor would be better.

I'd suggest the 930BF if your graphics card is less than 7800.

i'm still trying to decide what a good 1600 res lcd would be for this game.

bf2 looks sweet on my 2405. i run everything on high will full viewing distance and all that other junk, and 1600x1200 is so nice

Which lcd is better for gaming the samsung 930BF or the 940B any thoughts....

BF2 doesnt look proper at 1280x1024 unfortunately and that is the native resolution of 17" and 19" LCDs, BF2 is suited for 800x600, 1280x960, and 1600x1200. When you use the 1280x1204 rez you get stretched text, slightly oval shaped minimap, jaggies, and overall loss of sharpness. Because @ 1280x1024 all it is is a streched 1280x960.

That''s not true, at least not since the patches. I play on SyncMaster 710t at 1280x1024 and the minimap is a circle and there is no loss of sharpness. DICE/EA would not neglect all 17'' and 19'' LCD monitors, since most players are probabbly on one of those.

again, you would have to take a screenshot to prove it

BF2 is suited for 4:3 ratio.
