Best laser B&W printer under $1k?

Any of the HP LaserJets. HP makes real good B&W Laser printers. Infact HP as some color laserjets for under 1k..

get a dell dude..

i just got one of the all in one's since i needed to copy things. works awsome built in nic too. dell 1600n and for something a little more hardcore w5300

What is this printer going to be used for? I bought a HP Laserjet 1200se a year or two ago for less than $200 after some pricematching and coupons.

HP consumables can be pricy though. we switched to Kyocera/Mita a while ago and have quite a few FS-3830's on board running very high volume. I have never been back to chec or fix any of them. Depends on the application too.

i got an old laserjet for like 50 bucks with a good toner.

model 3p. avoid the 5l's like the plague.

I've got a HP LaserJet 1300 that I've put probably 5000+ pages of text through in the past 6 months. I get about 400-500 pages before I have to buy another toner cart... other than the somewhat lacking capacity of the toner cart for my purposes it's great.

Don't be a writer... it's painful on the wallet in between royalty checks and you need toner. :p

And you can always pickup a used one for cheap - try university surplus sales... they are usually open to the public and have some other cool computer goodies you may not be able to pass on.

for under $1k you can get a color Samsung laser printer - $449, $50 MIR = $399.

Anyway, it all depends on the volume. I have a Brother HL1440 and it holds up fine, and they have a high-capacity toner cart that is only like $20 more than the regular toner but has twice as much toner.

Well personally I think that the Minolta-qms pagepro 1250 laser printer is great. It has done wonders in printing b&w pictures, it is sure faster than printing b&w on my canon s630 bubblejet printer. Got mine for around $150.00 brand new off of ebay.

This laser printer is in par with the hp laserjets.
