So my new laptop came with a ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9700 Module with 128MB DDR but it was DOA.. So now I have another one coming (or so I`m told-- will call back again to confirm!!)

When I had the laptop put together I had the option of the ATI 9700 and a NVIDIA GeForce™ FX Go5700 .. I was reccomended the ATi was this the right choice? If not should I call back now and have them send me the GF (both same price)

And of course after my laptop shiped!! (5 days ago) I noticed they had a NEW SERIES laptop with NVIDIA GeForce™ FX Go 6800 256MB grrr made me so mad! LGA Processeors new ram new video card I ordered 1 month to soon :(

don't think the mobility radeon 9800 has even been released yet.

mr9800 has been released, i'm pretty sure. It's shipping in Dell XPS notebooks as an option, if my early morning memory serves me correctly

So I got my laptop to wrok.

1. Power On
2. Let everything load up (just wate 20 seconds)
3. CTRL-ALT-DEL (Reboot)
4. Display magically works.

Any idea why this works? CMOS had Power Button = Standby but I changed that to on/off and it still does this.. I have a new video card coming because this one also displays something WEIRD on the screen like a weird bad pixel grouping. (ON laptop lcd and another so I know its not jst dead pixels)

If you wanted to get the best, check around for a laptop equipped with a GeForce 6800go, which is the best currently.

why even get the mobility 9800 when you can allready purchase laptops with the x800 mobility and the nvidia 6800go .
