I'm wanting to save some power since LED LCDs are so power efficient (~20-30 W) combined with reduced AC costs, it's better for the environment, etc.
I'm looking for the best IPS pixels/watt ratio for ~$1000 or less -- this can be either a single 27/30" or two 24" ers. Obviously, the best option is probably something like two WLED 24" IPS LCDs, but no such options exist besides the hugely overpriced Apple LED LCD. Dell's 2711 is nice, but is a power guzzler, with most reviews showing it uses in excess of 120W, the equivalent of four or five LED 24" LCDs.
What are my options? Should I consider giving up IPS and opting for TN LED LCDs? Are there any affordable LED IPS LCDs on the near-horizon?
