Best Inverted ATX case?

Thinking about upgrading my case, so what do you think is the best inverted-ATX case money can buy?
 
Lian-Li PC-V1100APlus II, the 2100's are bit too tall for me as a main gaming rig, though as a file server type box its the sh1t.
 
I'm going to throw in my vote for the Stacker 830. It allows the option of inverted or normal ATX, has plenty of space and fantastic cooling (capability for up to 9 12cm fans :eek: ). It is also very sexy to boot. ;)
 
Might want to trim your sig down a bit (rules = 10 lines, you = 17).

I do second the tj06 though.
 
Problem: TJ06 has the PSU and the HD's are at the top of the computer case, with the Motherboard sort of scruched at the bottom.

The Lian-Li case is very nice, and I like how tidy it can look with a clear side panel. But what in the hell is the difference between the V1100, V1200, V2100, V2200, V2100 Plus, v2100 Plus II, V2200 Plus, V2200 Plus II, V--- oh screw it... I don't have 30 hours to list all of them, nor research each and everyone of them. What is the big difference between them all?

Also, I was in love with the stacker 830, but what about a clear side panel? Can you see through the mesh well enough? And is it really inverted? The whole left side of the case is solid, meaning it would be hard at best to mount a motherboard inverted...
 
Just be aware that some motherboards, that have passive heatpipe cooling, may not run upside down. This is because heat rises; most of them are designed to be mounted upright. I cooked an Asus A8N-SLI in my Li V2100...

I own one as well, while not the best, it is a awesome case and for the price, cooling features and mod potential its tops in my book. I like the ability to mount a dual rad internally with no modding required

The I have a v1000 pretty standard, pretty sexy, the 1100 adds the front door, the 1200 is longer to accommodate eATX mobos, and I assume that the same holds true for the 2000 series, the 2000 series is just a full tower holding 12 HDDs ( :eek: ) and enough space for internal watercooling etc, although it has been done on the v1000

as far as the plus and plus II IIRC it is the addition of the optional exhaust fan over the video card section, which I dont use personally cause the case has good airflow

V1000 is the rounded mesh front
V1100 is the one with a sexy door
V1200 is the extra long
V2000 is the taller v1000
v2100 is the taller v1100

And plus usually adds minor features like a duct or something.

almost ALL motherboards have a heatpipe with a wick. They will work fine. Just remember, just because it's a heatpipe, does not mean it does not need cooling. YOU STILL NEED FANS!!!

You can take out the mesh and replace it with a piece of Plexi. Its a pretty simple mod.

What are you talking about? Both sides are perfectly symmetrical, To run Inverted ATX, all you have to do is slide out the MBTray, install the mother board and everythign else you'd install on a MBTray, then slide it back in, inverted.

What are you talking about? Both sides are perfectly symmetrical, To run Inverted ATX, all you have to do is slide out the MBTray, install the mother board and everythign else you'd install on a MBTray, then slide it back in, inverted.

And after you've installed the motherboard once, it's easy to convert between ATX and reverse ATX. Unplug cables from the motherboard, pull the tray out, rotate 180 degrees, slide it back in, and connect your cables back. I've done this a few times already.
 
Another vote for Lian-Li V-series. They're awesome. I'm a big fan of the way the hard drive bays are setup. As for which one to get, I don't think I'd buy the 2000 series unless it was absolutely necessary for a desktop (water cooling?). I purchased it as a server case.
 
Another vote for Lian Li. I use a V2000 plus II for gaming and work and a V2100 plus II for my HTPC.

I'd change that to the V2000 being the longer version of the V1200, with the V2100 adding a door. The 2100 and 1100, besides having the door, also add foam isulation inside the case to help block noise.
The 1200, 2000, and 2100 are extended length, a few inches longer than the 1000 and 1100 to accomodate EATX motherboards. They're also useful for fitting longer power supplies and water cooling equipment.

The "plus" versions add a cpu fan duct that directs air from the CPU cooler out the rear exhaust fan. It also adds a squirrel type fan above the PCI slots that blows air out the back to exhaust video card heat.
The "plus II" versions also have the CPU duct, but instead of a squirrel type blower they have a square hole with mesh over it on the side of the case, above the pci slots, with a standard 120mm fan mounted on a bracket behind the hole exhausting air from the video card area.

Oh okay - don't fault me for it, this is why I am looking to upgrade, I haven't owned an inverted ATX case before, and from on-line pics, the Stacker 830 looks regular.

So what would be the best lian-li for an air cooled set-up, and has a clear side panel (One that looks fairly nice) And maybe a link to one?

Also - I hear good news about the Antec 900, but why? It doesn't LOOK amazing...

^ All of those are the PLUS II versions, with the side panel fan above the video card area.

My favorite is the V2000, but it may be too big for some people's taste. The 1200 is better, IMO, than the 1000 since it's longer and can accomodate oversized power supplies that everyone likes to use, as well as e-atx mobo's. Only problem is, that there is no factory window available as there is for the 1000 and 2000. You can order a custom windowed side panel for the V1200 from performance-pcs, or make one yourself.

All their V-series cases are available in either black or silver, not sure what color the ones are that I linked. I used newegg just because they usually have good pictures. I have bought both my lian li's from computer 3g, www.3gplaza.com , since they have had the best prices and free shipping each time I've needed the case. They were awesome to deal with.
