What're your opinions through gained knowledge or personal experiences on the best internal blu-ray burner?

Must obviously be able to play/burn: blu-ray/dvd rw/dvd r/cd blah blah.

3D blu-ray playback capability is a +.

Basically if you were slapping the ultimate multi optical drive in your rig or htpc, which would you choose. Although you probably wouldn't care about having burning abilities in your htpc. But this is going in my main rig.

Lightscribe would be nice since I've never used it and want to give it a try.

Just about the only brands I see on Newegg are as follows:

LG
Sony
Lite-On
ASUS
Pioneer
Plextor

Price range: $75-$130 (That's pushing it. Any more than $130 and somethings wrong, or you're paying for a lot of extra software than can easily be obtained otherwise. ;))

I was originally going to get that one, but when I decided to it was out of stock, and now that I've decided again that I want one, I can't find it anywhere.

Does anyone know where those might be available? Newegg says OOS, and probably has for a long time. Don't see anything on amazon either.

Your right, I can't find any available anywhere either. If I find one I'll send you a link.

I have never had a Pioneer drive go bad. So I'd feel comfortable suggesting this as an Asus alternative:

That Pioneer does look like an impressive and cost effective alternative. Anyone have any reason why I shouldn't snag one?

Does the one on Amazon come with the software?
(Pioneer Electronics USA Blu Ray Computer Drive, BDR-2207B5P)

ALSO....

In stock but may require an extra 1-2 days to process.
Shipping this item to your default address may require an additional 1 to 2 months to process.

??Huh? (I live in Southern California)

Must have been some sort of error. Anywho went ahead and placed an order for the Pioneer on Amazon for $89. Would have been nice if it came with up to date software. I feel CyberLink PowerDVD 11>10>12, and it comes with some variant of 10. But I already have 11 from teh bay! So we'll see what's up.
