Morning,
This is your Captain speaking..... I'm torn between the Pentium 4 2.6 GHz and the 3.0 GHz. Which one would be best for "stable" overclocks. I'll be setting up the following system: MSI Neo-2 PFS motherboard, Corsair TwinX512 4000PT (DDR500), WD 180 SE, Chaintech FX5700 Ultra Apogee AA5700U and Windows 2000 Pro.
The CPU will be cooled by a Zalman CNPS7000-ALCU, with AS5.

I've decided to go with a Pentium 4 2.8GHz (SL6WJ) D1 Stepping. I've looked at many a forum and most have said that the processor is one of the "best" at overclocking! Thanks for everyone's help.
