best headset for between $50-$100

I am looking for a headset for gaming, movies, and Rosetta Stone. I am looking for a analog headset mainly. One set I looked at Corsair Vengeance 1300 from the [H] review on it and also the Linus tech tip video seems nice. Thank you for your help.

Samson Sr850 $50
Panasonic HTF600-S $35

you can't really beat these phones for under $125 with the exception of maybe Audio Technica ATH-AD700 and senns 280 pros which are around $100 each.

I really like the samsons and JVC's i listed, I own alot of different price rang phones and those 2 are probably the best instance of something that doesnt cost much but IS SO GOOOD.
I game and listen to music on all my phones about 70/30 split.

to the OP all those he just listed are headphones not headsets so you would need a seperate mic for your purposes like the little zalman clip on one..

The headphones Rattle listed probably the best for their price, but he forgot one:
Grado SR60i open-back headphones for $80.

Ugly, all plastic, not the most comfortable... but amazing sound quality. I had the samsons, and the grados sound noticeably better. In fact, I'd say it contends with my ATH-M50 for $150.

I'm a big fan of the Shure SRH440's my-self , easy to drive and nice full and rich sound. They love rock , pop , jazz but don't seem that great with electronica/techno variations. Also quite comfortable even for long sessions. They do not require an amp so you'll get that sound from even an iPod or so on. They have a removable cable from the headphone and fold up for very easy storage , I would say they are an easy 10/10 for portable usage for that alone.

Amazon has them for $89.00 even. I paid $120 for them and don't regret it at all.

Considering that many games heavy on mids more than anything else I would imagine they are well suited.

However for long term comfort , Grados are likely not the way to go. They are great phones but I wouldn't wear them for hours on end.

so my JVC-RX700 headphones arrived a couple days ago...


BUY THEM... omg so freaking awesome for $35~


they sound awesome not just for their price but just in general sound awesome

well built, thick cord, fit well ....so far for me wearing them for a couple hours gaming was very comfortable.

I've heard good things about the JVC HA-RX700. I'd probably recomend them to friends since most of the people I know aren't looking to spend that much.
