As the title states. What is the best GPU for less than $150. Used is fine. This is for a backup rig.

Thank you. I will look to see if I find any used. What about Nvidia? I prefer Nvidia to Ati (I had too many issues with my 4870x2 and 5970).

Both of those are dual GPU cards. Dual GPU cards from both sides tend to be troublesome. I wouldn't judge ATI based off of those cards.

But you might be able to find a GTX 460 1GB at that price.

On a good day you can find a gtx 460 around your price range.
That.

768MB or 1GB are both good options. Recent 3 deals from SD:

Galaxy GTX 460 768MB $139.99/$99.99AR http://www.frys.com/product/6434002 <-- very hot
Palit GTX 460 1GB $159.99/$129.99AR http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0341977
Galaxy GTX 460 768MB $159.99/$119.99AR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162058

Too bad there's no EVGA deals now. With the no wait rebate in exchange for $4, I got back a rebate check in 2.5 weeks. Twice. :p

Galaxy has the same policy. I bet there are others who do this too.

I sent a Galaxy no wait rebate (GF 210) at the same time as the two EVGA rebates (GT 240, GTS 450). The rebate fulfillment company sends checks when the sponsor company pays them. The time to receive a check can and does vary because of that.

TBH, Galaxy no wait rebates are kind of slow. They have been 100% reliable, so no complaints and I'm really not that impatient. But the time to get a rebate back is definitely not on the fast side like from EVGA.
