Best GPU for cheap folding

So I have a relatively new desktop in the lab (Core 2 Duo) that is currently chugging along on the SMP client. Of course, it could do a lot more with a proper GPU. Currently it has a folding incompatible 7800GT that I had as a spare and added a few months ago. What is the best, cheap card for folding at around the $50 price point? I know it won't be a lot but it should be better than the SMP client. NVidia is preferred, the WinXP ATI GPU client (which I have running on my gaming system at home) is not something I want to deal with again.

9600GSO I would imagine would be the best for $50, I bought my 4 off EVGA ebay for $50 each and they do ~3200ppd depending on the WU, they are not oc'd at all...

8800GT's can be had for ~$80 or so, mine do ~4200ppd, again depending on the WU at stock speeds...

9800gt or 8800gs/9600gso(same card). Check out the hot deals section. There is a link there I believe for dells website where they are doing 9800gt Galaxy models for $45 after rebate.

Edit- Here is the link. Looks like all that is left is the 9600gt though. Still, $45 for a 9600gt isnt bad.

My 8800GT does about 5000ppd with the shaders bumped to ~1700Mhz. Can be had for around $80 as was said above.

The 8800GS is a pretty good overclocker, too, without getting too hot. One of the cards I got used was factory overclocked, so I set the other card to the same speeds and it works fine. Performance ranges from 2800 to 3700 PPD depending on the WU.

I can sell ya 2 96'GSOs if'n ya want them, 50 a piece, or 95 for 2

Ive been looking for a reason to upgrade, and I'll get doozer in 2 days so I can tone down then and regroup

Dont worry man, Ill only have you for a day or two, I have to offline my TriBox soon, I need to get rid of those GSO's

..but once I get into my new place (just finished the bathroom mostly, about a month left till I move) I hope to ramp up and break 40k by Thanksgiving
