Well im soon to be ordering my step dad a pc and newegg has the vga silencer in stock.

I know the VGA silencer is a beatiful cooling system but I am also looking at modding my intel hsf to the 9800Pro

The VGA silencer isnt out of my price range... I dont really care how much it costs(well i do) but i want the best cooling system for my gpu

So im wondering what would do a better job at cooling the core

and if you say the intel hsf would do it... Im going to mod it to be a tad bit lighter. Anyone know a spec on how much weight the card will support?

which one is better

note my sig stock so i will be doing volt mods in the future

ima make this baby purr since my cpu sucks at ocing(havent upped core voltages though :-P)

no he is getting onboard gf4mx

im getting it

edit: so it is better than the stock intel hsf

Anymore opinions?

Well, I have a Intel HSF from a 2.4C on my 9800 pro, but it didn't overclock much anyways. (Crappy black PCB sapphire)

So if you want the absolute best, and money is no object, the answer is phase change!

You have to admit, the core overclocks people are getting on super cooled 9800's are pretty good.

lol i wish i had the kind of money

Im just saying i want the best COMPLETE cooling for less that 50 bucks

if your running a water setup, for 50 the MCW 50 T 80 watt peltier is top o the line man. i have one and my GPU temp is around 6c. 9800XT oced at 475/405 now.

Just a tip but Newegg charges $24.99 shipped for the VGA Silencer. You can get it from Xoxide.com for $17.44 shipped

Coolerguys.com also has it for $13.99 but I'm not sure what they charge for shipping.

well what i ment by complete was i dont have a watercooling system and it would cost mucho bucks for me to do that.

I would order it off of a cheeper site, but since im ordering my step-dads shuttle all off of newegg, just as well to order it from them. Except they dont have arctic alumnia :(

oh yah cannon, my Wolverines beat your bucks

a good-sized made@home waterblock is still the best, but out of the commercially avalible ones I'd say VGA Silencer too.

iight thanks a lot

just was wondering if the retail intel hsf woulda been better

looks like VGA silencer wins me over too.. plus its sexier

:D

thanks,
Michael
