Those are all good choices, I don't think anybody's trying to bash any of the above, so just pick your fave.

The boomslang is more of a niche item, so I doubt it will overtake any of the logis :D

700/900 are the same performane wise in my experience.

Get rid of one of those MX ones and put on a Microsoft mouse. I still use my Intellimouse 3.0 and love it!

M$ mice suck.....compare the specs of their mice to any logitech one....

Specs are not everything. If they were, then the Razer would be the best due to it's "specs". There are other factors that come into play like comfort, size, etc.

I was once in your shoes, I had the 3.0 MS mouse and loooooved it until I tried a logi. Huge difference!!!
If you play FPSers buy a logi now, if not then don't worry about it. ;)

Logitech MX510. It's got the best sensor out of all the mice listed, if I remember correctly. Oh, and it looks great too.

well MX510 has 800dpi and Viper has 1000. i am looking for a good mouse myself and will probly go with MX510 because of the additional buttons

i would have to say my Intellimouse 3.0 is still my fav. but if I had to choose from the given options, i would say the 500/510 same thing

3.0A = greatest mouse ever > MX 700 > MX 500

Owned them all, MS 3.0A hands down

if youre not gonna put the 3.0 on a list even, then dont make one... the logitech's may have great specs but nothing feels better than the 3.0 my MS.

I tried the mx700...just way too big and sluggish for my hands.

This leaves me with my MS Wheel Mouse Optical v1.1

Yeah, you heard right. The same thing I'm using since '98, I use now. Its VERY lightweight (compared to the Intellimouse series/MX700), and that is something I value greatly. Precision? I don't notice much of a difference at all. I had a big difference switching from a crappy cloth pad to my 1030 func, however.

I tried to like the MX310, but its just:
1) uncomfortable
2) just plain ugly.

Compared to the MX500's..man, I just wish there wuz a slightly smaller/lighter version of the MX500. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. For now, I still stick to my simple wheel mouse.

If you liked the MS Wheel Mouse 1.1 mouse, go for the 3.0A version. It's sooo worth it.

I'm not sure if I should recommend the Razer Viper Optical. It is small, light and it's pretty too. Accurate? Plenty. Good for general games as well. Try it out first though.
