Best Gaming Laptop for under $1200

Friend is looking for a gaming laptop at around 1200 dollars. Doesnt have to be 1080p. He wants to be able to play bf3 and decent playable settings. what do you all recommend hes coming off a single core 939 system lol.

tell him to wait until DEC. 7 when these are refreshed

go for the 17" with a student discount and that should get it under 1200 in the base config, no word on the gpu yet but it should be decent, and sleep, and the base 17 gets a 1080p screen.


If he wants smaller the 15 should be fine too, but upgrade to the ips radiance panel, and again use a student discount to get the price a bit lower.

I had one of the first envy 15 model. Was awesome , but took it back after many BSOD. Lets hope this one is as cool in form , and better performing!
 
Sager 8130... or Malibal Lotus P151HM1 (Same thing, different logo)
$1,000... GTX560m, 1080p Matte Screen, 8GB DDR3, 500GB 7200RPM, 2630QM Quad-core w/ HT ... Best performance you're going to find for that price.

Doesn't run BF3 at max settings although I haven't played since release and Nvidia might have new drivers out. But it ran it well enough to be enjoyable.
