I'm wanting to get the best HDD for gaming i can get (nothing toamazing needed since i'm using an old 40GB IDE) and was wondering if it was the WD Raptor HDD's that are the best with their 10k rpm. I'll run raid later for storage and am wondering if having 1 HDD for games and 1 for storage is a good idea.

I run my OS on a 36GB Raptor and install my games on it. Then I use a 120GB SATA drive for storage and my misc apps. Works like a Charm.
 
If you can afford it get the 74 GB Raptor. Otherwise look for a high density drive which will have similar performance. 36 GB is fast, but kind of old... and compared to cheaper newer drives it's not that great for the price.
 
That will be expensive but by the time i get the money for a 74GB one the 150GB one will be out :D Anyone like the starting movie in Battlefield 2? Because it rules...
 
I read that thread and found it quite funny :D But I could just get a 120GB HDD and some more RAM :)
