best free pdf creator?

I'm looking for a program that does a solid job of printing to pdf for free. I've used adobe pro in the past which obviously does a fantastic job, but is obviously overkill. I'm trying cutepdf, but it butchers the pages.... are there any good programs for this task? I don't really need professional since all I want is to be able print into a pdf...

Ditto, it works fine. I don't get into the nuances of PDF generation, but to do a simple wysiwyg print it's great.

Does it preserve hyperlinks.
For example, if you have a table of contents in Microsoft Word and you create a PDF, using Acrobat, it creates hyperlinks in the final PDF that take you to the appropriate page from the TOC.
Does pdfcreator do that?

I put CutePDF on all of my work systems, and not one person has had an issue with the pages not coming out properly.

at work we use the pdf plugin for cups (on our freebsd fileserver) and it has always worked well. We use it to print some pretty complicated forms. I don't know about how it handles links though, I've never tried it. I can try it tomorrow and see what happens.

Of course this assumes you have a unix-ish system that uses cups at your disposal. if you don't then disregard this.


EDIT: I also like the cups plugin because it allows you to do some fun scripting. For example, we use it to print invoices, and we have a script with it to take the single invoice and print 3 copies, each one watermarked as "billing" "shipping" or "office" and each with a corresponding logo.
