I want to share some recent pics with my new-ish Powershot A80 (i've had it for over a week now).

Help a brutha out. :(

If you're "always online" like if you have a cable model or you're on a college campus, I'd suggest hosting all your pictures on a home server. You can get a free, easy one from Apache or Xitami. They work by using your computer's IP address and turning it into a website (I won't get into the details). Therefore you can put your stuff on a specific folder in your computer and it shows up automatically on your website. You can get a dynamic IP domain address for free at www.homeip.net or www.dyndns.org. Then you can download a program like Jalbum, or Gallery 1.x to set up your photos (do a google search), and you can host all your photos directly from your computer. Your website is available so long as you're connected to the internet.

If that doesn't apply to you, there are some pretty good free sites designed for hosting pictures, like Pbase (where you can set up a free 30 day trial), Webshots Community, or Photo.net. Photo.net uses an honor system for their hosting -- they ask that if you are hosting a large number of pictures, that you subscribe to their hosting service which is a few dollars each month. If you're only hosting a few pictures (and by few I mean less than 50 or so), then it's okay to use their service without paying. Pbase is kind of weird because they say you only have a 30 day trial but all my galleries on there have been accessible long after the trial period is done, so I have no idea. Just do a google search for "free gallery hoster" or something along those lines. Good luck. For a gallery with only a few photos, I'd suggest Webshots.

nice,1mb max size is alot more giving than most uploaders

but who needs it? hopefully you won't be posting pictures where half of a person's head takes up the entire screen. ....

thats true, but having the option to do so is still nice

That Imageshack looks pretty sweet.

If you want more permanant storage, go ahead and sign up for a PBase account. It's only $23/year for 200MB and unlimited bandwidth. You could split it with someone if you're not going to use that much space.

Certain neato factor...I've seen a few on the road by my house (must be a promo thing going around). But I wouldn't want to be cought in a snowstorm with it (or an accident for that matter) :D
