I would like to know what are the best performing and quality based forceware drivers for my 6800GT that is in the mail. I hear that the v67.22 are nice drivers...and that the betas i shouldnt touch...

The 67.22's are betas, the only official ones for the Geforce 6 are 61.77 and 66.93.
Just a side note, but for Betas, higher version numbers do not necessarily mean they are newer, or have all the fixes of lower versions.

I say go for Forceware 67.03, as they have the newest game fixes, have the new "Negative LOD bias" Clamp (which removes shimmering in most situations), and are straight from nvidia.

Performance difference between drivers is negligable, this is confirmed by my own experience (6800 GT owner here too :) ) and the recent Guru3d Forceware comparison.
 
I am using 61.11 and everything seems to run smooth. You can check out the spec on that driver over at www.guru3d.com This driver improves performace for many games. So far no problems and still running strong.

im using the 66.81 drivers off 3dguru..and have been since they came out..and they work great...ive tried some older..and newer ones..and they dont run as well for me...you can find em here http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=884
 
Since I am not at my computer until after January 9th I have not yet tried the 71.20 drivers, but I have heard lots of good things about them!
 
Go to http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=10
and download a few of the latest drivers. Then give them a try and stick with whichever you feel is best.

I've had the same or improved performance with 61.77, 66.32, 66.72, and 66.93.

As for Beta or WHQL, it doesn't matter, it's only a label. You're not going to hurt anything whether it's a Beta or not. Just use whatever works best.
 
i got some 66.93 on my current Nvidia card..and there are nice...
btw..any coolbits problems for any of the new drivers?
 
any modded drivers that are up to date?..the omegas i seen on their site are 61.77
 
61.77 smooth as a baby's butt. No problems on HL2, Doom3, or far cry. I have not tried the latest versions because 61.77 has done me well. happy holidays :D
