I was going to throw this 200gb into another PC to backup files on my main box, but figured just buying one of those USB 2.0 external hdd cases and slapping it in there would be a better backup solution (and i can take it wherever i go)

just wondering what you guys recommend for the best ext usb 2.0 hdd case that i can slap a wd 200gb drive into.
cheers,

i have a couple of the bytecc usb 2 + firewire drive cases. they work well though they have the external AC adapter.

A 3.5" drive is going to need a power brick, or parts that work exactly like a power brick inside the enclosure. Desktop drives simply need too much power to run off the current supplied by the bus. Some 2.5" laptop drive enclosures can run just off the power from the bus.

The Bytecc enclosures work, and the price is right. However, I am not particular on external enclosures, so I don't know the difference between a good one and a great one.
