Best DVD Ripping Software ?

What is the best software for ripping DVDs ? How about for authoring DVDs ? I am currently using Nero and I am not totally satisfied with my end products...

I prefer the trifecta of:

AnyDVD
CloneDVD2
DVD Region+CSS Free

Once all 3 are installed, I just launch clonedvd2 and rip away. The other 2 run at start up so they are ready to go when I am. The user interface from clonedvd2 is super easy and the quality of the final product for me (since I want everything in full quality and I have the space) is perfect.

RipIt4Me

Pretty much front end that keeps the now un-updated dvd decrypter and dvd shrink working on dvds with updated copy protection

going along with this thread i have a question. I paid to download the movie invinceable. Now its on my computer but apparantly not in the right format to copy to my dvd-r. What do i need to do to fix it.

Say it with me, downloading movies are illegal! This is also against forum rules to discuss illegal activity. I suggest you remove your post. (Yes, I know there are a few sites that provide legal means to do so)

DVD Decrypter still gives me the best features & such IMO. When I'm dumping ISOs to my HDD to play on my HTPC instead of digging around for the disc (I'd just rather them sit there looking nice on a shelf instead of getting scratched up...), I like having all the PUOs removed.

Set DVD Decrypter to use the ElbyCDIO driver instead of the stock SPTI, and it'll still work on the latest ArCoS protected discs. You do need AnyDVD though.

I backup all the kids movies with dvd shrink then use simpledvix to convert them to avi to save space. Usally rip them to 1.4gb files and play them through the xbox so my baby sitter doesnt have to get out the dvds and go through the 20 mins of disney ads.

how do u get an avi file to a vob file is my question. what program do you use or do you have to use a program

I had a few things that it did not work on. Good program otherwise.

If I found a movie that DVD Shrink couldn't rip, then I'd run AnyDVD also.

I've never had to use anything else to rip DVDs.

It's kind of hard to rip a DVD. Technically you rip things like paper and cloth. :p

Vongo.com. Legal.

Any DVD

DVD Shrink

DVD Decrypter

with these three programs you can rip, edit, compress, whatever, and burn with very good results

does this work on a 360?

so you take your DVD's, rip them with Shrink, use simpledivx to convert to .avi, and then are able to fit multiple movies on one DVD which plays in the 360/Xbox?

if so i need to do this badly.....

Nero vision express works wonders. Does just what you want. Excellent picture quality too

i have tried the Nero way, and compared to the alternatives, the IQ is pretty poor, but it's much quicker and easier for sure

You don't know if he did or did not use such LEGAL movie download services as vongo.com, moviefone.com/movielink.com. He clearly says he paid to download.

What pirate pays for downloading?

That being said.

I backup my movies with DVDshrink. If dvd shrink doesn't want to do it, I use ripit4me as a front end to dvd decrypter & fixvts because of the fact that it can generate PSL's very well.

I've not, yet, been unable to backup something.
I have, however, been unable to SHRINK something so that it would fit on a single layer dvd.
