Well, I got a REALLY good deal on an ATi X800XTPE and was wondering what is the best driver set for this card. Right now I am running a 9800 Pro@ 440/800 and just ran 3DMark01 for ol' time sake and scored 13,000 and some change. Currently using the CAT 6.5s and wow the drivers aren't very good for the 9800 Pro. With this same setup in 2004, I was able to hit 21000 LOL http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7467438 You might notice, I was running at 3.76 back then but that was before I got a better cooler. :p

PC:
P4 3.0C@4.1Ghz
1gb Kinston HyperX
Abit IC7.

Are the Omega drivers really that good? What is the difference between them and ATi Cats? Been a while since I've kept on these things.

The Omegas really are that good. Plus, they get rid of the CCC, which is a system hog.

Yeah, CCC is a big dork. Takes forever for my desktop to load and then it puts my cursor to the center of the screen!

The omega drivers are the best ive ever used for ATI cards. If you get those and ATI Tool you'll be set to do anything you would like with that card. I also saw a +10 to 15fps difference in some of my games. :D

Hey, merlin704 enjoy the heck out of that card. I just bought a X800XT pci-x version for my new rig. I am also going to use the Omega driver. I had very good performance and very little issues when I had my 9800pro.

I am patiently awaiting UPS to deliver it today. :( :)

I just don't install it. I have no choice in drivers since there aren't any x64 Omega drivers yet >.<

But I've actually noticed a difference in games. Before (under 32-bit Windows with the Omegas), I'd get about 10-11 FPS more in games like BF2 and such than I do now with regular ATIs.
