Best drivers for Counter-Strike: Source

I've been using the 4.12 drivers for quite a while as they were regarded at the time as the best to use with HL2/CSS. That was quite a while ago. Since CSS changed quite a bit, and now includes HDR lighting, I was wondering whether any more recent drivers will do a better job of running the game.

well cat 5.13's have done well for me...increased fps by 10 on avg in comparison with cats5.4 during gameplay

I tried 6.1.

3Dmark05 went up by 100, aquamark went down by 1,500. CSS stress test went down by 3fps but the test seemed jerky. And when i close stuff in windows, such as firefox, it sort of filters out quickly, instead of instantly dissapearing.

I only installed the 6.1 driver. Does a lack of control panel affect the performance? Also, i installed .net 2, so im not sure if that's ruining the gfx performance.

I'll install an older CP to see if that helps things, then remove .net 2. If things are still bad, ill go back to the 4.12 driver set.

6.1 makes BF2 and CS:S seem much more smooth on my X800XT.
IT may be that I have been playing on another comp for a while but I dont think so.
I def feel that my frames went up just a bit.

6.1's are fine with my x850xt pe-- using omega's 6.01 set though w/ati tray tools. no ill effects.
