Best Digital Point & Shoot under $300?

I'm considering a canon powershot A75 which is $243.99 at newegg right now. Good reviews at newegg and dpreview gave the A70 a good review. It's 3.2mp. Anyone have any experience with this camera or could recommend something better in this price range?

Due to the explosion of awesome tech, it's very hard to buy crap nowadays. Canon is one
of the more solid brands. I would have a look at an Olympus and/or a Fuji or two before
making the final decision!

FYI, A70 is going for 199 at amazon. Thinking of picking one up, how much more detail does a person need?

The A70 and A75 are good point and shooters that have manual control as well. If you shop around you can find both for ~200.

Well being kind of partial to my Nikon. Id say check the prices on the Coolpix4500 and, the 5000 series cameras. Some of them have dropped since the 8700 came out.

The A70 is great for point-and-shoot stuff. Its nice to just leave it on Auto-mode most of the time and not have to worry if the shots will turn out fine.

In low light situations, indoors, you might have to play around with the settings to get better lighting, but outdoors, and in most well-lit places, the camera is great.

Ordered a Canon A80 from buydig.com for $292 and free shipping. Read some reviews comparing the A70,75 to the A80 and convinced me to go for the A80. Can't wait to start playin' with it.

Nikon Coolpix 3200, Canon A60 or A70, are both good cams for around $250.
