Best digi-cam for me?

I've been using an old Sony point-n-shoot for a while now, but I want to delve further into the world of digi-photography. I plan to take pictures mainly of the wilderness on backpacking trips or up in the mountains etc. and sometimes inside at parties and similar events, but my main concern is "wilderness" photography.

Here's some cameras that have been recomended to me by friends:
-Fujifilm FinePix S7000 Z
-Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2
-Panasonic DMC-FZ1

With my research though, it seems that it is between the Fuji and the Panasonic. What do you think of the Fuji's 6 mp image quality (lowest ISO is at 200) vs. the Panasonic's 4mp image quality (lowest ISO at 50, has a Leica lens)? What camera do you think is best suited for me?

I've been thinking a lot and trying to get other opinions, but it seems that the cameras are pretty similar. What do you think?
