Best dell server for 900-1.2k

Ok got about 1k to spend on a home server.. Have to buy it from dell it's through my work. I'm not counting the hard drives as there to much from dell. So just the server it's self whats my best buy? This is going to be used for back up and my blu ray back up and distribution system. Also want to be able to put at least 6-8tb in it. Thanks
 
Hop online and use their configurator, there are lots of possible setups. I would target a 45nm dual core, with ~4gb of ram, onboard or low power video, try to stick with lower power components so that you can save on your power bill.
 
Don't forget about the dell outlet store. Look through what they are offering see if it will do for what you want...
 
IIRC one thing to think about with some Dell Servers..

If you put a non Dell Hard drive it might complain. Still should work, but complain about it.
 
better like whatever hard drive I put in lol.. I'm not paying 450 dollars for a 1Tb drive from dell thats crazynes.
