I just found out that my external 3.5 enclosure was eating my hard drives. I had one 400GB drive stop working with errors, and now my second one barely recognizes in Windows under the same enclosure.

Since it wasn't displaying any information under windows, I decided to quick format the thing and use a data recovery program since all my data was still there. I am currently using GetDataBack for NTFS, and it found most of my files, but some (pretty much unimportant DVD backups) don't show up.

The question: Is there any program out there that is recommended over the others? It needs to find the data, not just search the windows deleted lists.

GDB is what i've used with great sucess in the past, so if it can't find it, it's probably time to start crying ;)

I use:

File Scavenger for recovery
DIY DataRecovery's Diskpatch for repair
