I've been trying to find DIMMS w/ BH-5 chips and so far have found only Kingston HyperX (KHX-3200K2/1G) on Ebay. I know the Corsair XMS 3200LLPT series rev 1.1 had the Winbond chips but my question is what current pc3200 dimms with cas2 (2-2-2-6 timing) will compare to the old bh-5's for overclockability? What would be the next best thing?

Corsair LL, yeah, OCZ PC3500 Gold, Mushkin PC3200 2-2-2 Special...

You're gonna have to look farther than PC3200 RAM to get stuff that will do 2-2-2 at decent FSBs.

Yeah, PC3500 Corsair LL r1.1 type stuff might do those timings. But current RAM chips just can't do 2-2-2 anymore. You have to find a balance because higher speed rated RAM (PC3700) typically can't do lower timings, atleast at their rated speeds (3700 running at 3200 could probably do better timings, but it's a gray area). So do your research and hope for the best.

Actually, i have the ram u are talking about(see sig). but as u can see, i had to relax the timings to get the fsb where it's at. i personally don't mind because i consider the o/c on the fsb to offset getting nothing with the tighter timings.

p.s.- i was able to run the Hyper-X at 2-2-2-5 with no probs also but no o/c.

im at 2.5 3 3 7 right now, but im trying to break in my system first.. lots o prime. windows on raptor doesnt like a heavy OC yet. and dont even think about installing windows

xms 1gb 3200

they do 2 2 2 6
