Searched google and forums found nothing really helpful or best program.

Little behind on cpu stabilizing programs, I still use prime95 and new trying out orthos, but is there a program for a quick test unlike running 3dmark06 1 time?

Thanks.

A quick test for stability is kinda an oxymoron. If you want a quick go/no go for instability use Prime95 v25.x with in-place FFT's and smallish FFT size, 64k works good on core 2 chips. This will give you maximum temperatures right away, and should fish out any major instability. Like I said it won't tell you if it's stable, things have to run for hours for that...

I've had stuff fail after the 12 hour mark consistently, so be warned 8-12 hours is a good idea, but it doesn't prove complete stability.

In my mad quest to find out why, it turned out my mobo was "bowed" due to my mod of the ultra 120 extreme to give more clamping force. This caused the mosfet cooler at the top of my board not to contact all of the mosfets. An undo of the mod showed no diff in temps, and allowed the cooler to do it's job and give me 36+ hour stability.
